Karnataka Governor Gehlot accepts Siddaramaiah's resignation as CM

Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has formally accepted the resignation of Siddaramaiah as Chief Minister and dissolved the Council of Ministers headed by him with immediate effect. Siddaramaiah has been asked to continue in office as caretaker Chief Minister until alternative arrangements are made and new leadership takes charge. Notably, Siddaramaiah announced his resignation on Thursday.
