Karnataka govt bans hookah products citing health concerns

On 8 February, the Karnataka Health Department imposed a blanket ban on the sale, distribution, and consumption of hookah products in the state, including tobacco, non-tobacco, flavoured hookah, molasses, sheesha, etc. The ban aims to crack down on illegal hookah bars near schools and educational institutions, address tobacco-related diseases, and reduce second-hand smoke exposure.
