Karnataka may release more Cauvery water than CWRC order

Karnataka may need to release more Cauvery water than the quantity directed by the CWRC due to losses from dry riverbeds, groundwater absorption and channel factors before reaching Biligundlu. Experts estimate the State may have to release 6,000 to 7,000 cusecs daily from KRS and Kabini reservoirs amid weak monsoon, low storage levels and rainfall deficit concerns.
