Karnataka Motor Vehicle Taxation (Amendment) Act, 2024

Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot approved the Karnataka Motor Vehicle Taxation (Amendment) Act, 2024, impacting registration costs. The amendment introduces a 3% additional on newly registered transport vehicles for the Karnataka Motor Transport and Allied Workers Social Security and Welfare Fund. Electric vehicles (EVs) above Rs 25 lakh will now face a lifetime tax of 10%.
