Karnataka teacher pushes 10-year-old from 1st floor, beats his mother; boy dies

A 10-year-old student died on Monday after a teacher allegedly thrashed him with a shovel and pushed him off the first-floor balcony of a government-run school in Karnataka's Gadag district, police said. The teacher, identified as Muthappa Yellapa, 45, also allegedly thrashed the victim's mother, who tried to stop him. She is receiving treatment at KIMS Hospital, police added.
