Karnataka to boost Gram Panchayat finances: CM Shivakumar

Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar chaired a Decentralisation Planning Committee meeting, announcing steps to strengthen Gram Panchayats financially. A committee under the Rural Development Minister will review Fifth State Finance Commission recommendations. ₹1,261 crore released to Gram Panchayats. Karnataka will also seek GST revenue share for local bodies from the GST Council.
