Karnataka to end blanket road tax exemption on EVs

The Karnataka government is set to withdraw its 100% road tax exemption on electronic vehicles (EVs). Under the proposed framework, the lifetime tax at the time of registration will be linked to the vehicle's cost. EVs priced up to ₹10 lakh will be taxed at 5%, and those costing between ₹10 lakh and ₹25 lakh will attract 8% tax.
