Karnataka to move SC over HC order lifting bike taxi ban: Report

The Karnataka government plans to move the Supreme Court against a High Court order from January that lifted the ban on bike taxis, allowing operators to seek permits, Financial Express reported. Ride-hailing platforms Uber, Ola and Rapido had earlier challenged the ban in Karnataka. Uber said that bike taxis cater to a different commuter segment rather than replacing auto-rickshaws.
