Karnataka weavers worship mouse god instead of Ganesha

A weaver community in Karnataka follows a unique Ganesha Chaturthi tradition by worshipping a clay mouse idol called Ilichappa instead of Lord Ganesha. The community believes the mouse god protects the costly threads used for weaving. Families worship the idol for three days, prepare kadubu, avoid weaving and later immerse the idol in water.
