Karnataka woman beaten to death as in-laws take victim to exorcist

In Kalaburagi, Karnataka, 38-year-old Muktabai was beaten to death by her in-laws, who believed she was possessed by a ghost. Earlier assaulted in her marital village of Murum, she was taken to a shrine for exorcism, where further abuse led to her collapse. Despite hospitalisation, she succumbed to her injuries. Police have registered a case and begun investigation.
