Director Karthik Subbaraj says ₹1,000 cr hit films can't be planned

Director Karthik Subbaraj, speaking at a Student Tribe masterclass, responded to criticism that Kollywood lacks a ₹1,000 crore hit. He said such milestones, like KGF and Pushpa achieved, are unpredictable phenomena, not targets. "You can't plan for magic," he said, noting Tamil cinema's highest-grosser, Jailer 2, stands at ₹766 crore.
