Keep zero-fee UPI for few more years: NITI Aayog's ex-VC to govt

NITI Aayog's ex-VC Rajiv Kumar has urged the government to continue with zero-fee UPI transactions for at least a few more years. He said UPI should be treated as a public good because its overall benefits "far outweigh the cost" of maintaining its infrastructure. He added that 0.4% MDR on UPI payments above ₹2,000 could push transactions back to cash.
