Kent variant will sweep the world, COVID-19 battle will go on for a decade: Expert

The coronavirus variant first found in UK's Kent has "swept the country" and "it's going to sweep the world, in all probability", the head of COVID-19 Genomics UK consortium, Sharon Peacock, has said. The battle with the virus is going to go on for at least a decade, she added. The variant has been detected in over 50 countries.
