Kenya makes health insurance mandatory for visitors staying under a year

Kenya has mandated travel health insurance for all foreign visitors staying for less than 12 months, effective October 5, 2026. The Indian High Commission in Nairobi has urged Indian nationals to purchase the insurance through official portals before entering the country. Notably, citizens of East African Community (EAC) partner states and foreign nationals holding Kenyan residence are exempt.
