Kenya's Sawe breaks world record, becomes first man to run marathon under 2 hours

Kenya's Sabastian Sawe broke the world record and became the first man in history to run an official marathon in under two hours, clocking 1:59:30 at London Marathon on Sunday. The 31-year-old smashed the previous world record of 2:00:35 set by the late Kelvin Kiptum at 2023 Chicago Marathon. Runner-up Yomif Kejelcha also breached the two-hour mark, finishing in 1:59:41.
