Kerala Assembly Speaker and veteran Congress leader G Karthikeyan (66), who was undergoing treatment for liver-related ailments in Bangalore, passed away on Saturday morning. He began his political career as an activist of the Kerala Students Union - the student wing of Congress. Later, he also served as its state president.
