Kerala college lecturer dies by suicide amid dowry harassment

Shruthi, a 25-year-old college lecturer from Kerala, died by suicide reportedly due to dowry-related harassment. A resident of Kollam, she was married to Karthik, an electricity board employee from Tamil Nadu's Suchindram. Despite her family providing a substantial dowry, including ₹10 lakh and 50 sovereigns of gold, Karthik's mother allegedly found it insufficient, leading to frequent disputes.
