Kerala engineers develop 'Cocobot' to climb trees, harvest coconuts
Engineers in Kerala have developed Cocobot, an 11-kilogram robotic device designed to climb up to 20-metre-tall palm trees and assist in coconut harvesting. The battery-powered machine is attached to the trunk and ascends vertically using a gripping mechanism to identify and cut ripe coconuts. It has been created to reduce labour shortages and improve safety in traditional tree-climbing practices.
