Kerala govt challenges actor Dileep's acquittal in 2017 rape case

The Kerala High Court sent notices to actor Dileep and other accused individuals after the state government challenged their acquittal and sentences in the 2017 Malayalam actress rape case. The court had previously sentenced six convicts to 20 years' rigorous imprisonment. Dileep's acquittal and minimum sentence to the other accused drew criticism from the public and the entertainment industry.
