Kerala govt slashes fines for traffic violations under new Act
The Kerala cabinet has decided to reduce fines for certain traffic violations that were hiked by the Centre under the new Motor Vehicles Act recently. The fine for not wearing a helmet or seatbelt has been halved from ₹1,000 to ₹500. The fine for using a mobile phone while driving will be ₹2,000, which previously varied between ₹1,000 and ₹5,000.
