Kerala Guv signs ordinance providing 3-yr jail term for offensive online posts

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has signed an ordinance amending Kerala Police Act which proposes three years of imprisonment or a fine of ₹10,000 or both for any social media post that is deemed "offensive" or threatening. CM Pinarayi Vijayan claimed the ordinance was introduced to tackle social media abuse. The opposition claimed it would curb the freedom of expression.
