Kerala High Court allows physiotherapists to use ‘Dr’ prefix

Kerala High Court ruled that physiotherapists and occupational therapists can use the prefix “Dr” with their names, dismissing petitions filed by doctors who claimed exclusive rights to the title. The judgment marks a shift from the court’s interim order of Nov 2025, which had temporarily restrained physios and occupational therapists from using the title without recognised medical qualifications.
