Sasindran, 64, from Pathanapuram, was injured while fleeing a wild elephant on the Achankovil road around 6 pm. He abandoned his bike and fell into a roadside ditch while running from the charging elephant. He hid in forest bushes for hours before being rescued by travellers and taken to a hospital.
