Kerala reports 1st case of Omicron variant, case tally rises to 38 in India

Kerala Health Minister Veena George on Sunday confirmed the first case of Omicron variant in the state, taking the case tally in India to 38. She detailed that a UK returnee had tested positive for the new variant on his arrival in Kochi. Earlier on Sunday, Andhra Pradesh and Chandigarh also reported their first respective cases of the Omicron variant.
