Kerala Transport Minister says women opt for free buses but pay for private schools, sparks row

Kerala Transport Minister CP John sparked a controversy by saying that many women who use government's free bus service and rely on government healthcare are willing to spend money on private education for their children. "People's behaviour surprises me," John stated. The Left and BJP have accused John of being insensitive towards economic choices that families are forced to make.
