Keto diet may increase the risk of colorectal cancer: Study
Low-carb diets, including the Keto diet, may increase risk of colorectal cancer, which affects colon and rectum, according to a University of Toronto study published in Nature. Researchers conducted experiments on mice, comparing normal, low-carb, and Western-style (high-carb) diets. The study found that low-carb diets could stimulate the growth of E coli, a bacteria linked to colorectal cancer.
