Khadi flag demand plummets, weavers struggle in Karnataka

As Republic Day approaches, Karnataka's Hubballi weavers face hardships due to falling demand for Khadi flags. The central Flag Code amendment allowing polyester flags, along with pending MDA dues, has worsened their plight. Only a few artisans continue flag-making, while others turn to stitching handbags, masonry, or agricultural work to earn a living.
