Kharge writes to Modi seeking help for drought-hit Karnataka

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge wrote to PM Narendra Modi on Saturday seeking urgent central assistance for drought-hit Karnataka. Kharge cited a 58% rainfall deficit as of September and said 217 of the state’s 240 taluks had been declared drought-affected. He sought the release of ₹3,705.30 crore in central assistance.
