KickassTorrents compares itself to Google in piracy lawsuit

KickassTorrents, which was taken down in July 2016 by US law agencies, compared itself to search engines like Google in court this week. KickassTorrents' alleged owner Artem Vaulin was arrested over copyright violations and piracy allegations in a raid last year. "Torrent files are not content files. The distribution of torrent files isn't a crime," said the file-sharing platform's lawyer.
