Kidney recipient dies after transplant from rabies-infected donor

A kidney transplant recipient in Michigan died after receiving an organ from a donor later found to be infected with rabies, marking one of only four such transmissions in nearly 50 years. The donor, scratched by a skunk, unknowingly carried the virus. Other organ recipients are being treated as a precaution.
