Kilauea volcano erupts again, shoots lava 1,300 feet into sky

Kilauea volcano on Hawaii Island erupted again, sending bright orange lava fountains up to 1,300 feet and a towering ash plume over 35,000 feet, the US Geological Survey said. This marks the 42nd eruption since December 2024, part of an ongoing intermittent pattern. Most of the eruptions in this sequence have lasted less than 12 hours, officials said.
