Killer whale seen hitting 2,000 kg fish so hard it explodes into thousands of pieces

Marine biologists have captured a rare hunting behaviour on camera, showing an orca (killer whale) deliberately ramming a giant ocean sunfish, which weighs as much as 2,000 kg, with such force that it exploded into thousands of pieces. The videos were recorded in 2025 off the coast of Mexico but were published in scientific journal Frontiers in Ethology recently.
