Kochi man arrested for cheating female friend of gold, Rs 12 lakh

A 35-year-old man has been arrested by Kalady police in Kerala's Kochi for cheating his female friend. Police said he took 60 pavans of gold jewellery and about Rs 12 lakh in cash by telling false stories about medical needs and business plans. He later pawned and sold the gold and claimed he spent the money on online betting apps.
