Kochi Police chief removed over lapses in Mercedes hit-and-run case involving judge's son

Kochi Police Commissioner Kaliraj Mahesh has been removed from his post following a row over alleged mishandling of a road accident case involving the 17-year-old son of an additional district judge. He has been replaced by R Nishanthini. The minor rammed his car into a scooter, killing a man. The victim's family has alleged a conspiracy to sabotage the case.
