The Kerala High Court has ruled that there is nothing obscene about the June 2014 nude protest by six Kochi women against the rape of two teenage girls in Uttar Pradesh. The court said nudity by itself will not legally fulfill the requirement of obscenity. The women had been draped in banners and were charged with obscenity and obstructing traffic.
