Kolkata Police has issued new social media guidelines for all staff to protect the department's image. In the order, it is reportedly stated that officers cannot share sensitive information, post personal views on politics or religion, or use official symbols for personal promotion. It added only authorised officers can make official statements. Violating the rules can lead to disciplinary action.
