A 67-year-old tailor, Mohanan Pillai, was found dead inside his locked rented room on the top floor of the Eroor Post Office building in Kollam. His body was reportedly around four days old. Police broke open the door after locals noticed a foul smell and found him bleeding. Forensic experts examined the scene before the body was sent for post-mortem.
