Konkan Railways will merge with Indian Railways to avoid losses

The Maharashtra government has approved the long-awaited merger of Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) with Indian Railways, following consent from Goa, Karnataka, and Kerala. This paves the way for integrating the scenic 741-km coastal route into the national network. The merger aims to solve the financial woes of KRCL and promises better services.
