K'taka makes face masks, social distancing mandatory amid COVID-19 surge

The Karnataka government on Monday issued guidelines making face masks mandatory in public places, workplaces and on public transport amid a rise in COVID-19 cases in parts of the country. People have been asked to maintain social distancing, a minimum of two feet, in public places, an official order said. Spitting in public places will be punishable with a fine.
