Kunal Shah shares data comparing average Indian's income with the top 1%

Entrepreneur Kunal Shah took to X to share data showing income inequality in India. According to the World Inequality Lab report shared by him, average income of Indians was ₹2,34,551, while top 1% earned over ₹53 lakh on average in 2022-23. The richest Indians earned ₹48.52 crore on average, while bottom 50% and middle 40% earned ₹71,163 and ₹1,65,273, respectively.
