Kurdish women fighters seek role in Syria's new security force

Kurdish YPJ fighters, globally recognised for battling Islamic State, are negotiating with Syria's new leadership for an official combat role. Their proposal to join the army as an autonomous brigade was rejected. The YPJ is now in talks with Syria's interior ministry to join special operations forces following the SDF's dissolution.
