Kusal Mendis becomes 1st Sri Lanka cricketer with 2,500 T20I runs

Sri Lanka wicketkeeper-batter Kusal Mendis has become the first Sri Lanka batter to reach 2,500 runs in T20I cricket. He achieved the feat during the T20 World Cup match against Oman, in which he scored 61 off 45 balls. Mendis has amassed 2,542 runs in 102 T20I matches, while Pathum Nissanka follows him with 2,474 runs in 86 T20I games.
