A week after PM Narendra Modi launched the Start-up India initiative, the Labour Ministry on Sunday exempted Indian startups from key labour laws-related inspections. These laws include the Industrial Disputes Act, the Contract Labour Act, the Employees State Insurance Act, the Trade Union Act and the Employees Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act.
