Labourer gets ₹7-crore Income Tax notice in UP, suspects fraud

A daily-wage labourer in Rudamau village of Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi district, Govind Kumar, claimed to have received an I-T department notice demanding over ₹7 crore in unpaid taxes. He suspected it could be linked to a bank account a woman had created in his name six years ago, promising to obtain government schemes' benefits for him. The family suspects fraud.
