Lakhs of devotees gather at Gangasagar Mela amid COVID-19 in WB

Lakhs of devotees gathered at the Gangasagar Mela to take a holy dip in West Bengal's Sagardwip, the point where the Ganges joins the Bay of Bengal. COVID-19 testing facilities have been set up at all entry points, officials said. Calcutta High Court had earlier allowed the state government to organise the Gangasagar Mela from January 8-16 with certain restrictions.
