Lalit Modi acquires Vanuatu citizenship, applies to surrender Indian passport

Former IPL Chairman Lalit Modi has acquired Vanuatu citizenship and has applied to surrender his Indian passport. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed this on Friday. "The same will be examined in light of extant rules and procedures...We continue to pursue the case against him as required under law," MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said referring to Lalit's application.
