Lancet study linking deaths to air pollution not absolute: CPCB

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) challenged the Lancet study linking air pollution to mortality in 10 Indian cities, calling its data "not absolute" in the National Green Tribunal (NGT). CPCB argued deaths couldn't be solely attributed to pollution, as satellite data and modelling might not reflect a "realistic Indian scenario". NGT had taken suo motu cognisance of the report.
