Landmark bankruptcy reforms made it possible: Piramal on ₹34,250-cr DHFL takeover

Billionaire Ajay Piramal-led Piramal Group has completed Dewan Housing Finance Corporation's (DHFL) acquisition by paying its lenders ₹34,250 crore. "The landmark bankruptcy reforms have made it possible to solve complex resolutions like this," Piramal said. This is the "first successful resolution" under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code route in financial services sector, the firm said.
