Large amounts of oxygen detected in nearby ancient star's atmosphere

An international team of astronomers has detected large amounts of oxygen in the atmosphere of one of the oldest stars in existence, named J0815+4729. The ancient star is located 5,000 light-years away in Milky Way's outer 'halo' region. It was found to have an "unusual chemical composition", possessing "enormous" amount of carbon, nitrogen and oxygen compared to its iron content.
