Large number of ticketless fans caused stadium deaths: Cameroon govt

Cameroon authorities on Friday blamed the deadly stampede at the Olembe Stadium in Yaounde on the "massive" influx of ticketless fans. Cameroon Sports Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi said the ticketless fans tried to force their way in to avoid security checks and COVID-19 screening. This comes after the stampede killed eight people and injured 38 others on Monday.
